RACE REPORT

Round 5 took us to Pembrey 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 in the Freetech Endurance Streetstock Production Moto4 #JuniorTalentCup & 5hr Endurance Race.

Plenty of track time Friday, ☀️ all day. Loved been back at Pembrey Circuit

⏱️ Qualifying
It was wet in the morning, & we had 10min qualifying which would be 4 or 5 laps. P3 put it on the front row.

🏁 Heat 1 🌧️
Started well, got the holeshot into turn 1 into P1, @lakenpayne_41 took me turn 2 & on turn 4 @fpracing_199 overtook me. Held 🥉 for the rest of the race.

🏁 Heat 2 🌦️
Got a good start but dropped a gear into 3rd gear putting me side by side with @lakenpayne_41 & @fpracing_199. Was tight into turn 1 & came out of it in 4th. The Suzuki’s pulled away from having a great battle in front me. I was a few seconds behind my mate @billywhizz85 in P3 & had a great marker to close him down & caught up with him & we had a great battle for the last few laps. Being tactical, crossed the line in p3 for last 4 laps taking him on the line, so I knew coming into the final corner I could take 3rd. We crossed 0.039 between us. Was mega slipstreaming 🥉

🏁 Final 🌤️
Good start, was in P1 & lead most of the first lap till @lakenpayne_41 , dropped to P2 then then @fpracing_199 took me. Sat in P3 for the rest of the race 🥉

Endurance

I was invited to joint the Powertech UK endurance team again this weekend with @wozza_guantario, myself & @fpracing_199. We had limited bike time on Friday as the bike had issues all day, I had 10 min on the bike Friday which wasn’t ideal. We was sure Simon would sort it for Qualifying & the Race.

⏱️ Qualifying
@fpracing_199 did Q1 & we was on pole but in Q2 we was pushed back to P4. No big deal, we 210 laps ahead of us !!

🏁 5.5hr Endurance 🌤️
@wozza_guantario had a solid start we was in the top 5 teams overall & in class. @fpracing_199 had his session & took the fastest lap record. Then I took the lap record, then @fpracing_199 took it back with a 1:22.3 – Fuel stops, rider tactics put us into P1 & we won the #moto4 🥇 & overall 🥇 race.

The endurance is an incredible experience with tactics, fuel, rider changes & safety cars !!! You’ll have to check my #hkc217podcast for more depth!
