FIM MINIGP – Round 1

📈 Practice
Went really well, constantly improving my times & adjusting settings all day. Comparing @alfano_laptimers data with our riders all working on helping each other. Positive day, despite the damp start it was pretty glorious for R1 at @teessidekarting

⏱️ Qualifying
After morning warmup we had a long wait until Q1 in both the FIM 160 & Open 160 Class. In Q1 in both the FIM 160 & Open 160 I set my best laptime, Q2 later in the day the track was a lot cooler & I don’t think anyone improved from Q1 times. Qualified 🅿️4️⃣ in both classes.

🏁 @fimminigpuk 160 MiniGP – Race 1
Got a great start into the lead with Tyler & Wilson just behind me, & lead the race for a few laps. Tyler got past Wilson then myself, & Wilson passed me on turn 3 down the hill. Unfortunately they got away from me by end of the race but was happy with 🥉

🏁 @british_mini_bikes 160 Open – Race 1
Starting P4 me & Tyler got off to a great start & I got the hole-shot in P1 but Tyler got in front turn 3. We was off, hot on my @rapridersacademy teammate @tylerhumphriesracing wheel felt like we could pull away from the pack early, unfortunately on lap 2 I had an off. It was at the end of the back straight into the flip-flop & I clipped the kerb, unsettled the bike causing me to have a massive tank slapper & got thrown off the bike. Thankfully I’m fine, but really hurt my leg & ankle. Unfortunately I wasn’t allowed ride for the rest of the day on doctors orders & I stayed to support my teammates & went for a X-ray when got back home as advised.
